Breed tendencies: Retrievers, poodles, and many terriers often learn quickly.

Physical suitability: Generally safe. Do not force paw lift for dogs with shoulder discomfort.

Supplies: small treats, optional clicker

Verbal cues: shake, paw, gimme

Hand signal: Open palm at chest height.
